GREENBANK ANNOUNCEMENTS W/C 12TH MARCH 

It with sadness we announce the death of one of our members Mrs May Glaister of Silverburn Care Home. May’s funeral service will take place at Linn Crematorium on 22nd March at 4pm. 

Thank you very much to everyone who donated towards the retiring offering taken after communion last week 

in aid of AGE CONCERN which raised the amount of £335 

The CHRISTIAN AID ART EXHIBITION AND SALE will take place in Clarkston Halls this Friday, 17th March from 7pm – 9pm, and Saturday, 18th March from 10am – 4pm. Volunteers sought, to serve tea and coffee in the afternoon of Saturday, 18th. Please contact Mark Allan (638 3916) or Ron Livingston (639 2798) if you can help. 

A DAFFODIL TEA will take place next Saturday 18th March in the Fraser Hall from 2-4pm in aid of THE PRINCE AND PRINCESS OF WALES HOSPICE Hopefully spring will be in the air and there will be a healthy turnout for such a worthwhile cause. Entry by donation will be taken at the door. Donations of home baking would be gratefully received and can be left in the kitchen from Friday 17th and on the morning itself. 

THE UKRAINIAN CENTRE in our church grounds is hoping to host a MUSICAL EVENING in the church on Friday 24th March at 7pm. Entry will be by donation and all are most welcome. Further details to follow. 

FRIDAY AFTERNOONS AT GREENBANK from 1pm are becoming a popular a time for everyone to meet, enjoy afternoon tea/coffee/baking and spend quality time together. All are warmly invited to come along and to bring their friends. If anyone can spare a little time on any Friday afternoon to make tea, coffee etc., please email the church office. 

This year, GREENBANK’S LENTEN ZOOM STUDY called ‘God on Mute’ continues on Mondays evenings at 7pm during Lent [Paper copies of the study have been placed in the Link building for participants. Even if you can’t manage all dates, your participation is invited. Anyone wishing to receive the study by email should. and/or the zoom link. contacts the church office.

3pm, Netherlee Parish Church ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit’ – Luke 23: 44-49 [refreshments] 

BIBLE READERS – If you are willing to read the bible lesson in the next few months, please add your name and email address/phone number to the list in the Centenary Chapel at the service of your choice. 

WELCOMING DUTY TEAM – Volunteers are needed to assist with this important role. The duty is once every eight weeks and swaps are easily arranged. Contact Malcolm Pickard at: malcolmpickard@btinternet.com or by phone on 644 1940 to help. 

UKRAINIAN CENTRE – The Ukrainian support team send a monthly van with essential items: tea & coffee, cuppa soup, 2 min. porridge, tins of tuna & spam, baby food, blankets, personal hygiene products, cold and flu meds. Donations can be dropped off at the Ukrainian centre in the church grounds on Saturday mornings or left in the link building during the week. No clothing or glass bottles/jars please. 

LODGING HOUSE MISSION EASTER EGG APPEAL After a successful appeal last year, the LHM has launched an appeal again this year for Easter eggs to distribute to their guests. It would be appreciated, if you could put a label on your egg with “A gift of Hope” Please leave the eggs on the trolley in the Link building. The last Sunday for donations is the 2 April. 

Donations of food, especially UHT milk, kettle foods eg pot noodles, tinned soup eg tomato, chicken and mushroom, tinned stew or mince and tinned beans can be put on the trolley in the Link building. Sugar, toiletries, clothing, bedding, duvets and towels are not required at the moment. Thank you. Liz Smith 

GLASGOW NORTH EAST FOODBANK – Donations required, Nutritious foodstuffs required: tinned meat (not Fray Bentos, tinned fruit & veg, UHT milk & juice, diluting juice, tinned & packet potato (mash), tinned rice & custard, packet custard, pasta sauces, pasta, tinned tomatoes, biscuits, Toiletries; nappies & baby wipes. 

LINK BUILDING is open for all donations on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday mornings.
