Church Service Intimations

It is with sadness that we announce the death of one of our members, Mrs Ann Montgomerie of 42 Beechlands Drive, Clarkston.  Mrs Montgomerie’s funeral will take place on 30th April at 11am at Linn Crematorium.  Please remember Mrs Montgomerie’s family and friends in your prayers.

Kirk Session Meeting:  There will be a meeting of the Kirk Session on Monday, 25th April.  The Agenda and Reports have been emailed to Session members.

Ukraine Appeal: This week £8,090.85 has been transferred by our church Treasurer, Alistair Smith, into the Church of Scotland’s designated bank account in respect of the total monies raised to date from our congregation for the Ukraine appeal. This sum comprises donations from members £5,756; related gift aid of £1,378.75 (including small claims element within the members donations); proceeds of coffee morning organised by our Social Events Committee £456.10; and transfer of £500 from our own Crisis Fund. The Church of Scotland has advised that the finance staff of their national offices will transfer all monies received to the Reformed Church in Hungary for this special appeal.  Alistair would like to thank everyone for their contributions to this appeal and their fund raising efforts.

Coffee & Chat Morning: Come along to the church halls on Saturday, 7th May 10am till 12noon.

Messy Church will next meet on Friday, 29th April, 4pm to 6pm.

Saturday Book Club The next meeting will take place 7h May, 9am to 10am [8.45am for breakfast] by which time we will have read up to the end of chapter 18 of “Why did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha and Mohammed cross the road?”

Cosy Café: Volunteers needed to make hot chocolate and toast for the young people and interact with them.  If you would like to help please contact the church secretary at office@greenbankglasgow.org.uk or call 644 1841 and leave a message.

Services At Williamwood House & Clarkston Care Home: If you would like to join a team visiting Williamwood House on Sunday afternoons or visiting Clarkston Care Home on the 2nd Tuesday of each month email the church secretary at: office@greenbankglasgow.org.uk  or call her on 644 1841.

Lodging House Mission: Donations can be put on the trolley in the Link Building during normal church opening times on a Sunday.  UHT milk and sugar are particularly requested-and any spare plastic carrier bags.   Thank you, Liz Smith (0141 571 2676)
