Church Service Intimations

TEA AND COFFEE will be served in the Fraser Hall after the morning service. All welcome.

IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of one of our members, Miss Ann Marie Cooper, of Wellmeadow Lodge, Newton Mearns. Miss Cooper’s funeral will take place on Monday 10th April at 1.45pm at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Miss Cooper’s family and friends in your prayers.

A PRAYERS FOR HEALING SERVICE will take place in the CHURCH this evening at 6.30pm – all welcome. Prayer requests can be written on the pew cards and inserted in the Prayer Box at the front door of the church.

HOLY WEEK SERVICES will take place from Monday to Wednesday in the church at 7pm. The Sunday Club & JAM are taking Monday’s Service and the Guild is taking Tuesday’s service. Please come along to worship and give them your support.

THE FINAL LENTEN BOOK CLUB STUDY will take place on Saturday morning in Room A at 9am. Breakfast refreshments will be served from 8.45am. No preparation and no pre reading necessary. Everyone welcome – even those who have never attended before!

VOLUNTEERS FOR THE TEA/COFFEE ROTA ARE URGENTLY REQUIRED FOR 16TH & 23RD APRIL; volunteers are also still required for the months of July & December and 1st, 8th, & 15th October. If you or your organisation is able to help, even if only for one Sunday, please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice.

A VOLUNTEER TO READ THE BIBLE LESSON ON 30TH APRIL would be much appreciated. Please add your name and telephone number to the list in the Centenary Chapel. You will be contacted on the preceding Friday with the readings.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be open on Thursday, 13th April, 9.15am – 1.45pm this week.

ARTICLES FOR THE MAY EDITION OF GOOD NEIGHBOUR should be at the Church Office by Sunday, 16th April.

A HUGH THANK YOU TO WYLIE AND LOCCHEAD FUNERAL DIRECTORS for all the lovely daffodils gifted to Greenbank on Mothering Sunday, which the Sunday Club & JAM distributed.

LODGING HOUSE MISSION EASTER APPEAL- You are invited to support the LHM this Easter by making a cash donation. The LHM is sorry if it seems that it is always appealing for financial support, but the needs of the clients are great – the numbers attending daily are in excess of 100, and opening hours have been extended to include Saturdays. Saturday opening provides free food and fellowship unavailable elsewhere in our city on that day. You can donate via the website www.lhm-glasgow.org.uk , by post (Lodging House Mission, 35 East Campbell Street, Glasgow G1 5DT), by telephone (552 0285), or you can use one of the envelopes in the Link Building and pass it to me if that suits you better. GREENBANK’S FRIENDSHIP CAFÉ meets again on Friday 21st April between 10.00am and 11.30am in the church halls.

AFTERNOON TEA @ GREENBANK PARISH CHURCH HALL hosted by the pupils of Williamwood High School’s Malawi Partnership; on Saturday, 22nd April, 2pm-4pm; Adults £3; Children £1. All monies raised will go towards the £30,000 needed for the building of a 3-classroom block at Ekwendeni Primary School. Please come along and give your support.

THE CONGREGATION OF NEW KILPATRICK PARISH CHURCH, BEARSDEN invite all who remember Rev Roddy Hamilton, who was an assistant minister in Greenbank and was ordained here 25 years ago this month, to a celebratory service and presentation on Sunday 23rd April at 10.30am marking this significant anniversary.

THE GLASGOW STEDFAST ASSOCIATION is sponsoring a concert by the Salvation Army’s Govan Songsters on Thursday 27th April at 7.30pm in Clincarth Parish Church which is at the corner of Cathcart Road and Battlefield Road. Tickets are £5 and can be obtained from Bill Robertson (phone number 585 0008) or can be paid for at the door of the church on the night of the concert. As always, ,this is a fundraising concert  for projects ,small and large, which are in need of money and which are being  run by the Glasgow Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade. The Govan Songsters have a first class reputation for their concerts throughout Glasgow and neighbouring area. Please give them your support.

GOD WITH US CHOIR presents “The Wonder of the Cross” on Sunday 23rd April, 6.30pm – 7.30pm at Park Church, Giffnock. Free Admission, donations welcome, tea/coffee afterwards.

ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
