Church Service Intimations

FOLLOWING GUIDANCE FROM THE GENERAL TRUSTEES of the need to ensure that we adopt best practice in Food Safety Hygiene, we have adopted a paper which outlines basic steps to be followed when preparing and handling food. We also need to be careful about allergies and a Food Allergy Notice has also been developed. Copies of both are in the kitchen and are to be followed at all times. C. POSTIES REQUIRED – Greenbank needs your help to deliver the leaflets about the Easter and Holy Week services round the Parish. Bundles of leaflets can be picked up from the front of the Centenary Chapel.

DISTRICT VISITORS who have not already done so are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today please. Articles for the Mayedition of Good Neighbour should be received at the Church Office by Sunday, 14th April please.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week, 9am-2.30pm.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOLY WEEK SERVICE AT GREENBANK: On Sunday, 14th April there will be a rehearsal at Greenbankat 5pm, for the Wednesday night Holy week service. All young people wishing to take part in the service are invited to attend.

THE SUNDAY MORNING TEA ROTA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2019 in the Centenary Chapel. Volunteers are still required for April. If you can help, please add your details at the date of your choice.

DISTRICT VISITORS: District 51 is still without a visitor at present, 10 homes on Greenwood Road. Anyone willing to give this a try please contact Margot/Gordon Blyth (638 7646).

VOLUNTEERS TO READ BIBLE LESSONS would be much appreciated. A list is available in the Centenary Chapel. Please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice and you will be contacted on the preceding Friday.

 

WHAT’S ON AT GREENBANK

A PRAYERS FOR HEALING SERVICE will take place in the CHURCH at 6.30pm next Sunday – all welcome. Prayer requests can be written on the pew cards and inserted in the Prayer Box at the front door of the church.

JOE’S HOLIDAY CAFÉ takes place Monday 8th April to Friday 12th April in the church halls from 10am-12noon for all primary school age children. Registration from 9.45am tomorrow.

THE LAST MEETING OF THE SESSION of the Greenbank Film Society will be held on Monday, 8th April at 7.30pm in the Session House. The thrilling spy drama, ‘Three Days Of The Condor’, starring Robert Redford and joined by Faye Dunaway, Cliff Robertson and Max Von Sydow, will be shown and shouldn’t be missed. All welcome.

FRIENDSHIP CAFÉ, Fridays @ 10am, at the church halls, come for a cup of tea and a blether. B Miller (577 5449)

GREENBANK’S ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR is on Saturday 27th April from 2–4pm. Over 20 local crafters and small businesses have stalls at this event. Come along for a browse and find some unique gifts. Tickets are £2 for an adult (children are free) and include a cup of tea, coffee or juice and some home baking.

Any donations of home baking would be greatly appreciated and can be left in the kitchen on the Friday night or Saturday morning.

 

GLASGOW STEDFAST ASSOCIATION – The Association is welcoming back the Sounds International Choir to Clincarthill Church at the corner of Battlefield Road/Cathcart Road on Thursday, 25th April at 7.30pm. As always, fundraising is for the work and the sponsoring of events for the Glasgow Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade. Tickets are £8 each and can be obtained from Bill Robertson (585 0008) or can be paid for at the church door on the evening of the concert.

ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK; or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
