THE FUNERAL SERVICE of Mrs Myra Alexander of Eastwood Court Care Home, Giffnock will take place on Tuesday 6th June at 3pm at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mrs Alexander’s family and friends in your prayers.

IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Mrs Helen Curran (Helen Howard’s mum) of Linn Park Court, Netherlee. Mrs Curran’s funeral will take place on Saturday 10th June at 12noon at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mrs Curran’s family and friends in your prayers.

IT IS ALSO WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Lady Margaret Bartaby of Greenlaw Grove Care Home, Newton Mearns. Lady Bartaby’s funeral arrangements are still to be made. Please remember Lady Bartaby’s family and friends in your prayers.

IT IS ALSO WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Mr Tommy Taylor of 1 Cartside Place, Busby. Mr Taylor’s funeral took place on Friday 2nd June. Please remember Mr Taylor’s family and friends in your prayers.

AT THE PREPARATORY SERVICE on Friday night Gordon Campbell, Karyn Campbell and Graham Wyllie became members of Greenbank by profession of their faith. We offer them a warm welcome and wish them God’s blessing as they worship here amongst us.

AN ALL AGE COMMUNION SERVICE AND PRAYERS FOR HEALING will take place at 6.30pm this evening. After today’s Communion services there will be a RETIRING OFFERING ON BEHALF OF CROSSREACH. There will also be a short Communion Service next Sunday, 11th June at 3.00pm.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION TOMORROW, MONDAY 5TH JUNE. Papers are now available in the Centenary chapel for those who have not received them by e-mail. THE APRIL PRESBYTERY REPORT is also available in the Centenary Chapel for those who have not received it by email.

THE STATED ANNUAL MEETING OF THE CONGREGATION will be held in the church on Sunday 18th June at 11.45am. The only item on the Agenda will be the presentation of the 2016 Financial Accounts to the Congregation.

DISTRICT VISITORS who have not already done so are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today please.

VOLUNTEERS TO READ THE BIBLE LESSONS OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS would be much appreciated. A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice. You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.

THE ANNUAL ECHO MEETING of the Church of Scotland Guild will be held on Thursday, 8th June 2017 at 7.30pm in Clincarthill Church. The speaker will be Rev. Wilma Pearson. All welcome to attend.

THE SOCIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE has trialled afternoon teas in various locations and feels this is something that is worthwhile continuing in an effort to help combat loneliness in our community, particularly amongst the elderly.   Volunteers from the congregation are required for this initiative, namely drivers, servers and bakers. If you would like to volunteer please add your name to the list in the Centenary Chapel or contact the church office at greenbank.office@tiscali.co.uk or on 644 1841.

CHURCH CAR TRANSPORT – another driver required asap. – call Bill Robertson on 585 0008.

GREENBANK WALKING GROUP – The next walk will be on Saturday 10th June, taking the form of a circular route from Dunblane to Kilbryde, about 5.5 miles in length.   It crosses a very scenic part of the country and is on tarmac throughout, so strong walking shoes should be sufficient.   We will be leaving from the church at 9.30am and you are very welcome to join us.   Please call Jane Livingston (586 6272) or Helen Millar (644 1266) to confirm.

SHAWL MINISTRY the next shawl ministry meeting will take place on 12th August not 5th August as originally planned.

If anyone has any INK CARTRIDGES to RECYCLE for Christion Aid, would they please put them in the labelled bin in the corridor By the hall. (N.B. Epson and unspecified makes cannot be recycled). Many thanks, Audrey Thomson.

GLASGOW NORTH EAST FOODBANK has an ever increasing demand on its resources and is running critically short of several items of food; Required items: Tinned tomatoes, UHT milk, UHT fruit juice, Tinned soup, Tinned vegetables, Tinned fruit and Rice pudding. Alex Howie.

ANNUAL BOWLS TOURNAMENT, Saturday, 10th June, 2pm at Giffnock Bowling Club. A mixed triples game. Entry is £5 all welcome to play. Entries to Bill Robertson on 585 0008 or Sadie Gould on 571 8808 by the end of May.

ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
