THE STATED ANNUAL MEETING of the congregation will take place in the Cowley Hall at 12noon on Sunday, 2nd June. The only item of business is for the congregation to receive the Financial Accounts for the Year ended 31st December 2018.
THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION on Tuesday 4th June. Papers are now available in the Centenary Chapel for members of the Kirk Session who did not receive them by email.
LARGE OLD SUITCASEREQUIRED – can you help with getting much needed aid to Malawi by donating a suitcase? Willamwood High School is about to send a group out so please contact the church office (0141 644 1841) asap if you can help.
THREE VISITORS FROM EKWENDENI CONGREGATION – Rev Isaac Mulongo; Mrs Victoria Queen Nkhata and Mrs Chrissie Mhango [who are part of the KWENDERANA twinning partnership between the 4 congregations of Busby, Giffnock South, Greenbank and Willamwood with Ekwendeni CCAP Congregation in Malawi] are coming to visit from 5th to 18th June. A full itinerary has been prepared for the visitors but if anyone would like to have one, or two or three of them to stay for bed and breakfast for a day or two during their visit, please contact Jeanne or the church office as soon as possible.
DISTRICT VISITORS are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today.
SU BIBLE READING NOTES for the next quarter are available for those who ordered them in the Centenary Chapel today.
THE ANNUAL ECHO MEETING OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND GUILD will take place on Thursday, 6th June in Queen’s Park/Govanhill Church at 7.30pm. The preacher will be Rev. Jan Mathieson of Williamwood Parish Church.
VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED for Cosy Café. Your time commitment would be one Friday afternoon roughly every 6 weeks from 2.45pm till 4pm. Three adult volunteers help each week as well as young volunteers. You would be required to make hot chocolate and toast for the young people (secondary school age) and interact with them. SUNDAY TEA ROTA VOLUNTEERS STILL REQUIRED FOR 9th & 23rd June – if you/your organisation can help serving tea & coffee after the morning service next week, please add your details, on the rota in the Centenary Chapel.
VOLUNTEERS TO READ THE BIBLE LESSONS OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS would be much appreciated. A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice. You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.
THE ANNUAL SPONSORED CYCLE to raise funds for the Lodging House Mission will take place on Saturday, 27th July. The event will start at 10am at Glasgow Green, and follow a 16 mile route out to Clydebank and back to the finish at the Lodging House Mission. Entry is £7 per adult, with free entry for under 16s. ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK, or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
WHAT’S ON AT GREENBANK
THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION will be celebrated on Sunday at 10.30am and again at 6.30pm with a Family Communion Service. After these services there will be a retiring offering on behalf of Crossreach.
A PRAYERS FOR HEALING SERVICE will take place in the CHURCH at 6.30pm on Sunday, 9th June – all welcome. Prayer requests can be written on the pew cards and inserted in the Prayer Box at the front door of the church.
If you have green fingers please come along and help with the grounds of the church at 7pm on Tuesdays.
THE ANNUAL B.B. JUMBLE SALE takes place on 8th June, 10am – 12noon in the church halls (details in Good Neighbour).
SATURDAY MORNING BOOK CLUB, Room A, 1st Saturday of each month beginning on Saturday 3rd August reading ‘The Books of the Bible – The Prophets ’ which is a fresh yet ancient presentation of Scripture, using the full NIV text using an 8 month reading plan. Breakfast refreshments are served form 8.45am for a 9am start. If you would like to come along a book [accompanied by a reading plan] can be purchased from the church office or after church on Sundays at a cost of £5. CLARKSTON COMMUNITY CHOIR SUMMER CHARITY CONCERT, Monday, 3rd June @ 7.30pm in Greenbank Parish Church. Tickets £5, includes tea and coffee after the concert from choir members of pay at the door.
