IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of one of our elders, Mrs Florence Denholm, of 114 Mearns Road, Clarkston. There will be a private family cremation on Wednesday 1st February followed by a Thanksgiving Service for Florence at 11.30am here in Greenbank. Please remember Florence’s family and friends in your prayers.
THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION ON TUESDAY 7TH FEBRUARY. The Agenda and reports are now available in the Centenary chapel for those who have not received them by email.
DISTRICT ELDERS can now collect their communion invitations and Kirk Session Coffee Morning tickets from the front of the Centenary Chapel. Elders without districts and Associates should also collect their Coffee Morning tickets from the same location.
DISTRICT VISITORS are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today please.
THE NEXT MEETING OF THE SHAWL MINISTRY GROUP will take place on 11th March.
VOLUNTARY ACTION EAST RENFREWSHIRE would like people in our area to complete a questionnaire for them. The questionnaire is for all ages, is short and anonymous and can be collected from the church door, church office or from weekly organisations. THE NEXT PRAYERS FOR HEALING SERVICE will take place in the CHURCH at 6.30pm NEXT SUNDAY, 5th February – all welcome. Prayer requests can be written on the pew cards and inserted in the Prayer Box at the front door of the church.
THE GUILD looks forward to Bert McCrum visiting their meeting on Wednesday afternoon. The title of his talk will be “The Art of the Jeweller.” Visitors are most welcome.
THE FRIENDSHIP CAFE meets every Friday at 10am (except the last one of each month when you are invited to the Lunch Club). Why not come along to the church halls for a cup of tea and a blether? Bring a friend – the more the merrier! Blair Miller (577 5449)
THE HOMELESSNESS SUNDAY SERVICE will take place at the Lodging House Mission, 35 East Campbell Street, Glasgow TONIGHT AT 6.30PM when The Rev Dr Russell Barr, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland will be the guest speaker. THE FLOWER LIST FOR 2017 is available on the transept windowsill. Anyone wishing to donate flowers is invited to add their name at the date of their choice.
ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls any time during the week.
NB: IN ORDER TO MAXIMISE THE LIFE SPAN OF OUR DRAINS AND DRIVE WAY SURFACE, VEHICULAR ACCESS TO THE CHURCH IS ONLY FOR THOSE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY AND THOSE DELIVERING ITEMS TO THE CHURCH AND HALLS. YOUR SUPPORT AND COMPLIANCE WITH THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
