INTIMATIONS 28th February 2016

IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Mr John Cross. Please remember Mr Cross’ family and friends in your prayers.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION ON MONDAY 7TH MARCH. The Agenda and Reports are now available in the Centenary chapel for those who have not received them by e-mail.

IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY! VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO DELIVER EASTER LEAFLETS ROUND THE PARISH. This is an important part of our outreach and it would be an amazing effort if we could ensure that every house in the parish received an invitation to join us for worship this Easter. Thank you in the hope of your participation. Look on it as a nice walk and healthy exercise!

DISTRICT VISITORS are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today please.

IF YOU HAVE STILL TO PAY FOR YOUR LENTEN BOOK CLUB BIBLE please give the money (£5) to Jeanne at the book club on Saturday or hand it in at the church office. Thank you.

MEMBERS OF OUR PARTNER CHURCH, in the east end of Glasgow, Garthamlock & Craigend East Parish Church, have combined their love of knitting/crocheting into a SHAWL MINISTRY which reaches out to those in need of comfort and support, as well as in celebration and joy. The shawl makers begin with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The shawls are very simple to make and upon completion, a final blessing is offered before it is packed away in tissue to be passed on to someone. Made in prayer and completed in prayer, the shawls are often made and given to recipients anonymously. If you feel that you want to know more about, or get involved in this Shawl Ministry please speak to Jeanne.

People from both churches will be able to work together on this Shawl Ministry. The knitting is mainly done at home.

CARE HOMES: Greenbank is one of a group of local churches who are on a rota for taking worship on Sunday afternoons at Bonnyton, Eastwoodhill, Mearnskirk and Williamwood care homes. The services last for half an hour and mainly involve singing some of the old favourite hymns and choruses. Over recent years the number of volunteers has reduced, so we would be very grateful for volunteers to boost these teams. Each team is only required every two to three months so it would not be a heavy commitment. If you are interested in becoming involved with this worship, please contact Elizabeth Wishart (644 4471) or Jane Livingston (586 6272).
