IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Mr David Rodgers of Flat 2, 27 Greenwood Road, Clarkston. Mr Rodgers’ funeral took place on Friday, 24th August at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mr Rodgers’ family and friends in your prayers.

THIS MORNING WE WELCOME BACK Martin Bennie, who will accompany our worship.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION ON MONDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER. Papers are now available in the Centenary chapel for those who have not received them by e-mail.

FAMILY FITNESS FUNDRAISERSunday 26th August, 12noon – 5pm – loads of fitness fun to be had – classes at all levels; Beat the goalie; Bouncy castle; WII Just Dance; Games and races. But if fitness is not your thing come along and enjoy tea/coffee and home baking or grab lunch at the bbq. The money raised from the day will go towards Williamwood High School pupils’ 2019 trip to Malawi and helping the 2019 GB’s Special Olympics Team compete in Abu Dhabi. Lorna Preece.

CAN YOU HELP BY BRINGING IN CLEAR JARS (bigger than jam jars so maybe coffee jars) and SHOE BOXESASAP for September’s Messy Church (7th September) and leave them in the Hall of Friendship. Thank you, Lorna.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be OPEN on Thursday and Friday next week, 9am to 2.30pm.

District Visitors are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today please.

SCRIPTURE UNION BIBLE READING NOTES for the next quarter are available for those who ordered them in the Centenary Chapel today.

TEA/COFFEE ROTA: Volunteers are urgently required for16 and 30 September, and the whole of December. If you or your organisation can help for one or more Sundays please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice on the rota in the Centenary Chapel. Thank you.

COMMUNITY FETE SATURDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER, 1PM-4PM – Your help is required! Please hand in any tombola prizes that you are willing to donate. We also need volunteers to help look after the various activities – just an hour of your time would be very much appreciated. Please add your name to the rota in the Centenary Chapel at the activity and time of your choice. Thank you.

SUNDAY CLUB – The Sunday Club needs your help to ensure we have enough adults each week for the number of young people we have in our various sections! If you would be willing to help out regularly, occasionally, or on a rota basis, please speak to any of the Sunday Club leaders, or Helen Howard, or contact Helen on 585 7909 or h.howard@ntlworld.com

A REMINDER TO ALL GREENBANK COLOUR CIRCLERS to clean their palettes and brushes ready for the new session beginning on Tuesday, 4th September.

SNAP COMMUNITY YOUTH CLUB is looking for volunteers to help on Saturday evenings 6.30pm-9.30pm during term time. If you feel you are able to give up a Saturday evening, even if it’s one evening per year, please contact Jeanne or email snap@greenbankglasgow.org.uk

SLEEP IN THE PARK, SATURDAY 8 DECEMBER 2018 in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen. Why? To end homelessness. Details: www.sleepinthepark.co.uk The Moderator of the Church of Scotland, Rt. Rev. Susan M. Brown, needs your support and help and would like you to consider joining her. This year there are to be 4 places to sleep out and there is also going to be a “Wee Sleep Oot” for younger people. Could you involve your youth organisations? Local schools? Grown-ups? The aim is to set Scotland off down the road to ending homelessness through a route that has been tried and tested in other parts of the world. Let’s be radical and help things to change.

EAGLESHAM COMMUNITY CLUB, Carswell Centre, Montgomery Street, Eaglesham, G76 0AS, first Tuesday of the month, 2pm to 4pm. Next meetings: 4th September: Fire Brigade; 2nd October: History of Pollok House.

THEFLOWER LIST FOR 2018 is available on the transept windowsill. Anyone wishing to donate flowers is invited to add their name at the date of their choice.

ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK; or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls any time during the week.
