Church Service Intimations

It is with sadness that we announce the death of one of our members, Mrs Vera Reid, of 6 The Paddock, Busby on Friday 16th February. Vera’s funeral arrangements have yet to be confirmed. Please remember Vera’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

On Sunday, 3rd March, our service will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. There will be a Retiring Offering will be taken in aid of SAMH, the Scottish Association for Mental Health.

LOST PROPERTY – Various items of lost property are in a box in the Hall of Friendship. If you have recently left something behind in the church, please have a look today before you leave. This can also be accessed when the halls are open throughout the week.

NURSERY VISIT We are looking for some volunteers to help with an intergenerational project, the nursery bring down between 6 and 10 children to the church halls, they come on a Thursday afternoon between 13:30 and 14:00. We play games with the children and draw pictures. You would not have to come every Thursday, just when you could manage. If you would like to give this a try please give Ronnie McNeill a call on 0141 577 6503.

SUNDAY AFTER-SERVICE – It would be helpful to have some new volunteers to join this rota. If you enjoy having tea and coffee after the service, please consider volunteering to help. New volunteers should contact the church office on 0141 644 1841 or office@greenbankglasgow.org.uk

DONATIONS REQUIRED [Link Building is open for all donations on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings] LHM donations of sugar, diluting juice and long grain rice are urgently required. UHT milk, kettle foods e.g. pot noodles, and tinned soups are also needed as well as toiletries. All donations are much appreciated. Clothing, bedding, duvets and towels are not required at the moment. The LHM is launching an Easter Egg Appeal again this year. If you would like to donate an egg, please label it “A Gift of Hope” and leave it on the trolley. Thank you.

GNE FOODBANK are as busy as always and are looking for donations of tinned and packet food particularly meats, vegetables, fruit, UHT milk and juice, diluting juice plus ladies and gents toiletries. Unfortunately we can’t take fresh food. Donation box in Link Building.

FRIDAY 1st MARCH – WORLD DAY OF PRAYER The service for Clarkston Churches together is being held in Netherlee Stamperland Church at 10.30am on Friday 1st March. Please come along if you can.

SATURDAY 2ND MARCH – SATURDAY MORNING BOOK CLUB meets in the creche at 09:45 please bring a cup if you would like tea or coffee. We are currently reading “Encounters with Jesus (unexpected answers to life’s biggest questions). Written by Timothy Keller, we are reading chapter 2 “the insider and the outcast “.
