IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Mr Tom Chisholm of 9 Kennedy Court, Braidholm Crescent, Giffnock. Mr Chisholm’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 27th February at 2.45pm at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mr Chisholm’s family and friends in your prayers.

DISTRICT VISITORS are asked to collect their copies of Good Neighbour and Life & Work from the room off the transept today.

THE WORLD DAY OF PRAYER SERVICE will be held in Netherlee Parish Church on Friday, 2nd March 2018 at 10.30am. This service is open to everyone.

SCRIPTURE UNION BIBLE READING NOTES for the next quarter are available for those who ordered them in the Centenary Chapel today.

PRESBYTERY REPORTS FROM THE NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER MEETINGS are now available in the Centenary Chapel for those members of the Kirk Session who have not received them by email.

DISTRICT ELDERS please collect your communion invitations and Kirk Session Coffee Morning tickets from the front of the Centenary Chapel.  Elders without districts and Associates should also collect their Coffee Morning tickets from the same location.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be open on Thursday and Friday of next week (9.15am – 1.45pm).

CHRISTIAN AID – The next fundraising activity is the 38th Annual Art Exhibition and Sale on Saturday, March 10th from 10am to 4pm in the Carmichael Hall, at Eastwood Park Leisure Centre next to the swimming pool. This is the same venue as last year. Please note the date in your diaries/phones. Entry will be by catalogue, priced at £3 for adults and £1 for children. As I write, the artists are being invited to exhibit their work, and I hope that you will continue to support this popular annual event by coming along to view and to purchase some of the work on display; 1/3rd of the sale price is going to Christian Aid. The entry to the exhibition includes a cup of tea or coffee in the tea room which is also a popular place to meet friends and view the work on display. Thank you in anticipation of your support. SUNDAY MORNING TEA/COFFEE ROTA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2018 in the Centenary Chapel. If your organisation can offer its services for a few Sundays please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice. There are still plenty of dates to choose from!

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION will be celebrated next Sunday, 4th March at 10.30am and again at 6.30pm with an All-Age Communion. After these services there will be a retiring offering on behalf of Age Concern Eastwood. Our Preparatory Service will be held on Friday 2nd March at 7.30pm.

THE NEXT MEETING OF THE GREENBANK FILM SOCIETY will be held on Monday, 5th March at 7.30pm in the Session House when the film shown will be “Un Homme et une Femme”. This classic and multi-award winning love story, starring Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant, won Oscars, BAFTAs and Golden Globes for best foreign picture; and then there’s the music. All Welcome.

THE GUILD looks forward to a “Saunter Round the South Side” on Wednesday afternoon with our good friend, Tom Marchant. Tom’s talks have become a feature of the Guild year and are always very enjoyable. Visitors welcome.

THE KIRK SESSION COFFEE MORNING will be held on Saturday 24th March this year; your continuing support will be appreciated. Tickets, price £2 (Children £1) are now available from Elders and Associates. Alan Veitch (639 8138).

 

ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the halls’ entrance.
