IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of one of our members, Mr Peter Rutherford of 48 Mansefield Road, Clarkston. Mr Rutherford’s funeral will take place on Friday, 29th December at 2pm at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mr Rutherford’s family and friends in your prayers.
IT IS ALSO WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of a former member, Miss Jean Mather of Whitecraigs Care Home and formerly of Park Court, Giffnock. Miss Mather left her body to the University of Glasgow for medical research. Please remember Miss Mather’s family and friends in your prayers.
AT ALL OF OUR CHRISTMAS SERVICES THERE WILL BE A RETIRING OFFERING IN AID OF C.H.A.S. The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland [CHAS] provides the only hospice service in Scotland for children and young people with life limiting conditions. A children’s hospice offers professional care, practical help and emotional support to the whole family usually from the day of acceptance to the death of their children and beyond.
VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE CHRISTINGLES for the Children’s Christmas Eve Service. If you can spare a few minutes after the service this morning we will meet in the Hall of Friendship to assemble them.
SUNDAY MORNING TEA/COFFEE ROTA – VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS MORNING AND 31 DECEMBER 2017 STILL REQUIRED! If you can help, please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice. THE ROTA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2018 in the Centenary Chapel. If your organisation can offer its services for a few Sundays please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice.
A BIG THANK YOU to all those who helped and contributed to CHRISTMAS AT GREENBANK MANSE IN AID OF THE AL SHUROOQ SCHOOL FOR BLIND CHILDREN, especially to Anne and David Margetts for their organisation of the event. £400 was raised and has already been sent to the Al-Shurooq school.
ALSO, A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SPONSORED THE SLEEP IN THE PARK EVENT – Greenbank raised a magnificent total of
over £4000.
THE CHURCH OFFICE will be open next week on Friday, 29th December.

S.U. BIBLE READING NOTES for the next quarter are available for those who ordered them in the Centenary Chapel today.
EAGLESHAM WILL BE WITHOUT A DISTRICT VISITOR FROM THE NEW YEAR. One volunteer is required to deliver Good Neighbours. Please contact Margot or Gordon Blyth (0141 638 7646).
VOLUNTEERS TO READ THE BIBLE LESSONS OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS would be much appreciated. A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice. We are always looking for new volunteers, so even if you have never read the lesson before please consider adding your name to the list. You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.
THE JANUARY ISSUE OF LIFE &WORK MAGAZINE is now available. Would subscribers please uplift their copies from the flower Room as the next Good Neighbour delivery will be the February issue. Subscription renewal details will be enclosed within this the January issue. Cheques should be made payable to Greenbank Church enclosed in the envelope provided and placed in the offering bags for our Treasurer. PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING THE LODGING HOUSE MISSION CHRISTMAS APPEAL this year by making a cash donation. This will allow small gifts to be purchased for service users and will help to defray additional costs incurred at this time. ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
NB: IN ORDER TO MAXIMISE THE LIFE SPAN OF OUR DRAINS AND DRIVE WAY SURFACE, VEHICULAR ACCESS TO THE CHURCH IS ONLY FOR THOSE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY AND THOSE DELIVERING ITEMS TO THE CHURCH AND HALLS. YOUR SUPPORT AND COMPLIANCE WITH THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
