THANKSGIVING SERVICE: A Thanksgiving Service for the life of John Baird, retired elder and former Boys’ Brigade Captain, will be held on Friday 11th October at 1.00pm in Greenbank Church. All are welcome to attend. The family have requested that people wear light colours if possible. Please continue to remember John’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
LEGACY PROJECT UPDATE: On the first Sunday back in the sanctuary after its refurbishment the congregation received an update on progress with the wider Legacy Project. The various, final approvals we had to secure were outlined, the first of which involved Glasgow Presbytery confirming its continuing support for the project. The relevant papers were submitted to Presbytery and we are pleased to report that Presbytery did in fact confirm its support at its meeting last week. This is an important step forward and allows us now to enter into discussion with the General Trustees of the Church of Scotland, whose approval and support is also required, with a view to inviting companies to tender for the construction work.
BIBLE READERS: There is a new bible readers rota sheet for October-December on the table at the back of the transept. If you are able to help with bible readings, please add your name and contact details to the sheet.
SATURDAY BOOK CLUB: Our next meeting of the Saturday book club will be on Saturday 5th October at 10.00am in the crèche, just off the Hall of Friendship. We are still reading Timothy Keller’s book “Encounters with Jesus “. We will be reading Chapter 9: “The Right Hand of the Father “. If you would like to join us please come along, we are a friendly group who enjoy a lively discussion. Some of us meet at 9.45am for a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit prior to the meeting. For more information you can contact Ronnie McNeill on 07796 002517.
CHURCH CHOIR: Church choir practices have resumed on a Thursday evening in the church at 7.30pm. New members are very welcome to join us, no previous choral experience is required. Please feel free to speak to Peter Howard or any choir member for more information.
CROSSREACH NEWS: Anyone interested in reading the most recent edition of the Crossreach News, there are free copies available at the front of the church. Learn some of the things our church is doing.

GNE FOODBANK: Greenbank has still been a great support for the foodbank over the summer even with all activities in recess. We thank you. The donation box, along with the LHM trolley, is back in the link building and there is a new list there of items mainly required. Tinned and packet foods, including meat, vegetables, UHT milk and juice drinks, fruit, custard, mash, large size nappies, toiletries. We can’t take fresh foods.
