INTIMATIONS 19/5/19
THE STATED ANNUAL MEETING of the congregation will take place in the Cowley Hall at 12noon on Sunday 2nd June. The only item of business is for the congregation to receive the Financial Accounts for the Year ended 31st December 2018.
MEMBERS OF THE GUILD are reminded of the outing to Crieff on Wednesday, 22nd May. The bus leaves the Church at 10.45am prompt. Contact Elizabeth Cross on 638 5126.
THREE VISITORS FROM EKWENDENI CONGREGATION – Rev Isaac Mulongo; Mrs Victoria Queen Nkhata and Mrs Chrissie Mhango [who are part of the KWENDERANA twinning partnership between the 4 congregations of Busby, Giffnock South, Greenbank and Willamwood with Ekwendeni CCAP Congregation in Malawi] are coming to visit from 5th to 18th June. A full itinerary has been prepared for the visitors but if anyone would like to have one, or two or three of them to stay for bed and breakfast for a day or two during their visit, please contact Jeanne or the church office as soon as possible.
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OPENED ON SATURDAY 18th MAY – All General Assembly related information can be accessed from www.churchofscotland.org.uk/ga from where there are links to all the GA Publications, including the Volume of Reports (Blue Book), Order of Proceedings and Daily Papers. Each day’s business and the Heart and Soul Celebration will be webcast, and if you are not a Commissioner, you may wish to follow some of the week’s activity. The webcast will also be available with BSL signing. There is a daily podcast hosted by Laurence Wareing, with daily overviews.
DISTRICT ELDERS – Communion invitations are now ready for delivery and can be uplifted from the Centenary Chapel.
THE CHURCH OFFICE will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week, 9am-2.30pm, but closed on Friday.
VOLUNTEERS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED for the next session of Cosy Café. Your time commitment would be one Friday afternoon roughly every 6 weeks from 2.45pm till 4pm. Three adult volunteers help each week as well as young volunteers. You would be required to make hot chocolate and toast for the young people (secondary school age) and interact with them. SUNDAY TEA ROTA – VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED FOR JUNE – if you/your organisation can help serving tea & coffee after the morning service, please add your details opposite the date of your choice, on the rota in the Centenary Chapel.
ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK, or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.

THE LAST FRIENDSHIP CAFÉ OF THE SESSION takes place on 24th May, 10am – 11am, all welcome. Blair Miller (577 5449)
THE NEXT OUTING OF THE GREENBANK WALKING GROUP will be on Saturday 25th May, leaving from the church at 9am. The walk starts from the Three Bridges at South Queensferry and covers much of the Dalmeny estate (about 5.5 miles). Anyone interested in coming along should phone either Jane Livingston (586 6272) or Helen Millar (644 1266) for further details.
THE ANNUAL B.B. JUMBLE SALE takes place on 8th June, 10am – 12noon in the church halls.
SATURDAY MORNING BOOK CLUB, Room A, 1st Saturday of each month beginning on Saturday 3rd August reading ‘The Books of the Bible – The Prophets ’ which is a fresh yet ancient presentation of Scripture, using the full NIV text using an 8 month reading plan. The meetings last one hour and breakfast refreshments are served form 8.45am for a 9am start. If you would like to come along and be part of this informal friendly and welcoming group a book [accompanied by a reading plan] can be purchased from the church office or after church on Sundays at a cost of £5. CHILDREN ARE MOST WELCOME to remain in church for the duration of the service however, if parents would prefer, we provide a CRÈCHE for children under 3 years of age in Room C, behind the stage in the church halls, for the duration of the service on Sundays when the Sunday Club meets. Visiting children over 3 years of age are also most welcome to join our Sunday Club or JAM when they leave the church after the Sunday Club and JAM prayer.
