THE STATED ANNUAL MEETING OF THE CONGREGATION will be held in the church at 11.45am this morning. The only item on the Agenda will be the presentation of the 2016 Financial Accounts to the Congregation.
OUR MINISTER WILL BE ON ANNUAL LEAVE from 21st June – 7th July. If you require the services of a minister during this time please contact Jerry Eve (644 3670). Please pass pastoral requests to our Session Clerk, Mr Derek Christie (638 0044) from 21st to 23rd June and from 2nd to 7th July and to our Deputy Session Clerk, Mr Peter Liddell (638 7870) from 24th June to 1st July.
SCRIPTURE UNION BIBLE READING NOTES for the next quarter are available for those who ordered them in the Centenary Chapel today.

NYA IS A RESIDENTIAL EVENT held annually for 17 to 25 years olds that have some connection with the Church of Scotland. It attracts folk from all over Scotland to get together, worship together, learn together, discuss together, and work together. This year’s NYA is the 21st to 24th July and will be discussing key topics such as; Young people and Discipleship; Interfaith and Priorities of the Church. NYA is a family; a safe place where all can come together and belong; closing date for applications 25th June.

COMMUNITY CHOIR SUMMER CONCERT – thanks so much to everyone who came to the concert and supported the choir. An amazing £1930 was raised which will be split equally between the choir’s chosen charities of The Beatson and Richmond’s Hope, both will receive £965.
VOLUNTEERS TO READ THE BIBLE LESSONS OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS would be much appreciated. A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice. You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.
THE SOCIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE has trialled afternoon teas in various locations and feels this is something that is worthwhile continuing in an effort to help combat loneliness in our community, particularly amongst the elderly. Volunteers from the congregation are required for this initiative, namely drivers, servers and bakers. If you would like to volunteer please add your name to the list in the Centenary Chapel or contact the church office at greenbank.office@tiscali.co.uk or on 644 1841.
A CHRISTIAN FILM THE SHACK (12A) is being retained for a second week at Glasgow’s Silverburn Cineworld from this Friday 16th June until Wednesday 21st June with daily performances at 11.50am on Friday, Monday and Wednesday and at 11am on Tuesday. It must have done well during the opening weekend for it to get a second week. A message about the film on Premier Christian Radio’s website reads: “I just got back from seeing “The Shack” as my daughter, not the least churchey, wanted to see it. I think we both cried all the way through it. It is a piece of poetry well-made and not in the least banal or insipid. Go and see it if you haven’t already.”
USE IT OR LOSE IT: when the new health centre on Eastwoodmains Road opened the number 375 bus service was introduced. It connects Netherlee to Clarkston Toll then on to Spiersbridge. It complements the number 374 to provide a half hourly service. The 375 will be reviewed in the near future and if found to be underused will be withdrawn. Please use this bus if you can to retain the service. Further information can be found on the notice board in the Hall of Friendship.
FOR THOSE WHO KINDLY DONATE STAMPS the latest poster from the Church of Scotland giving details of what the funds raised are used for is now displayed on the notice board in the hall.
SHAWL MINISTRY the next shawl ministry meeting will take place on 12th August not 5th August as originally planned.
THE EASTWOOD INTER-CHURCHES BOWLS TOURNAMENT is taking place at Giffnock Bowling Club on Saturday, 24thJune starting at 2pm. Any Greenbank members wanting to play should notify Bill Robertson on 585-0008 or Sadie Gould on 571-8808 by Sunday, 18th June. Entry is £4 and should be paid to either Bill or Sadie by this date.
If anyone has any INK CARTRIDGES to RECYCLE for Christion Aid, would they please put them in the labelled bin in the corridor By the hall. (N.B. Epson and unspecified makes cannot be recycled). Many thanks, Audrey Thomson.
THE FLOWER LIST is available on the transept windowsill. Anyone wishing to donate flowers is invited to add their name at the date of their choice.
ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
