THE MODERATOR’S CONCERT – Students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and their friends are performing at Greenbank Church in the presence of The Moderator of the Church of Scotland, Rt. Rev. The concert is in aid of Williamwood High School’s 2017 rebuilding project at Ekwendeni primary school.
SATURDAY BOOK CLUB: copies of “Investigating the Invisible Church” by Steve Aisthorpe are available in the Centenary Chapel for those attending the club.
THE KELVINGROVE ART GALLERY DAILY ORGAN CONCERT will be given by Peter Howard on Saturday 23rd September at 1pm. Admission is free.
VOLUNTEERS TO READ THE BIBLE LESSONS OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS would be much appreciated. A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice. You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.
ALL MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION are invited to bring an item of non-perishable food, from the following list, to our Harvest service on Sunday, 1st October. To assist the LHM with sorting and storage, they would be very grateful if you would only donate items on the list which has been given to you with your order on your way into church. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS FAIR – SATURDAY 11TH NOVEMBER – There will be a meeting of stallholders/organisations/helpers on Wednesday 4th October at 7.00 pm in Room A. At the meeting final arrangements will be made. THE GUILD begin their new session on Wednesday afternoon. Our own minister, Rev. Jeanne Roddick, will be the speaker and she will conduct a short act of rededication.
GROWING DEEP AND WIDE – MINISTRY WITH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES – Lucy Moore, the founder of Messy Church, will be the main speaker at this event. A number of practical workshops will be run, exploring issues such as Maturing Messy Church; Discipling families; Borrowing from our church traditions; and Inter-generational church. It will take place on Sat 23 September 2017 from 10am – 4pm at North Parish Church, 70 Springfield Road, Stirling, FK7 7QW. If anyone would like to go to this event please contact the church office as soon as possible so that a ticket can be ordered for you.
COULD YOU VOLUNTEER TO HELP AT THE SNAP YOUTH GROUP ON ONE SATURDAY NIGHT BETWEEN NOW AND CHRISTMAS? CHRISTIAN AID SPONSORED SWIM The annual sponsored swim will take place on Saturday 7th October at Eastwood swimming pool. Sponsor forms are available from the Hall of friendship, and from Mark Allan and Ron Livingston. Please lend your support to this fun event by taking part or by sponsoring one or more of our participants. Thank you once again in anticipation of your support for Christian Aid. Mark Allan.
SAYING GOODBYE SERVICE 30TH SEPTEMBER AT 11AM IN GLASGOW CATHEDRAL, organised by the Mariposa Trust, this service is for anyone who has either personally lost a baby at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in early years, or who has been affected by a family members or friend’s loss. Whether the loss was recent or 80 years ago, everyone is welcome to attend. We have also extended the services, and gladly welcome anyone who is grieving the fact that they haven’t had children. This may be due to circumstance, infertility or for other reasons – but all are welcome. Babies and children are also invited to come with their family, as the Saying Goodbye service is truly a family event for all. THE ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZENS CONCERT – The concert is FREE and provides an afternoon of musical entertainment and an opportunity to meet friends, old and new. It will take place on Sunday 8 October in the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Cambridge Street, Glasgow from 2pm till 5pm. Tickets for the event and transport – available from a number of pick-up points across East Renfrewshire. Ticket orders should be placed by Friday 22 September. AGE CONCERN EASTWOOD Do you have a free hour to help in the local community? We need help at our office which is situated in Eastwood Park, beside the swimming pool. Full training is given and the time commitment is flexible. We are also looking for volunteers to help at our social lunch clubs which are based at Albertslund Hall, Westacres (Tuesdays) and Woodfarm Pavilion (Thursdays). Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
