IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of one of our members, Mrs Isobel Gardner, of 47 Greenholm Avenue, Clarkston. Mrs Gardner’s funeral arrangements are still to be made. Please remember Mrs Gardner’s family and friends in your prayers.

THE FUNERAL OF Mrs Margaret MacKay of Mearnskirk Hospital, Old Mearns Road, whose death was announced last week, will take place on Friday, 22nd February at 1pm at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mrs MacKay’s family and friends in your prayers.

COPIES OF THE KIRK SESSION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF 4TH FEBRUARY are available in the Centenary Chapel for those members of the Kirk Session who did not receive them by email.

THE REPORTS OF THE OCTOBER 18 PRESBYTERY MEETING & JANUARY 19 PRESBYTERY CONFERENCE are available in the Centenary Chapel for members of the Kirk Session who did not receive them by email.

DISTRICT ELDERS please pick up your Communion invitations along with their tickets for the Kirk Session Coffee Morning from the front row of the Centenary Chapel. NON DISTRICT ELDERS & RETIRED ELDERS please pick up your Kirk Session Coffee Morning tickets from the side of the Centenary Chapel.

FAIRTRADEGOODS will be on sale in the halls after the service next Sunday, 24th February.

ON TUESDAY 5TH MARCH our minister, in her capacity as one of the chaplains at Willamwood High School, is taking PANCAKES TO SCHOOL FOR THE PUPILS as the beginning of a Lent initiative to encourage the pupils to give or do something for others during Lent. Jeanne would much appreciate ANY DONATIONS OF PANCAKES which can be brought to the manse before 11am on the Tuesday morning.

THE GUILD will meet on Wednesday at 2.15pm when our speaker will be Jean MacDonald. The title of her talk will be ‘The Coupers of Cathcart.’ Visitors welcome.

LUNCH CLUB meets on Friday, 22nd February from 12noon till 1.15pm. Why not come along and join us for soup, filled rolls and tea/coffee? If you wish to join us for lunch, but require a lift, please phone Jan (258 4959) or Maureen (639 5114).

THERE WILL BE A MEETINGOF THE SOCIAL EVENTS TEAM on Monday 25th February at 7.30pm at the Manse. Anyone who wants to be part of the discussion and has ideas about future social events here at Greenbank is warmly invited to come along.

THE FIRST MEETING OF A NEW ‘ALTERNATIVE WORSHIP GROUP’ will take place on Tuesday 26th February at 7.30pm at the Manse. Anyone who wants to be part of the discussion and wishes to share ideas about possible new forms of worship is warmly invited.

ASDA HAS CHOSEN SNAP COMMUNITY YOUTH CLUB as one of 3 nominees for the current green token scheme for local good causes which runs from now till the 31st March. If you are shopping there, please pop your green tokens in the Youth Club box. If we win ASDA donate £500 to our funds or 2nd and 3rd earns us £200 which would help to boost our funds. Lindy Dallas

TIME OUT is having their annual fundraiser on Thursday, 7th March at 7.30pm. This year it is a Fashion Show/Clothing Sale which promises to be an entertaining night! SUNDAY MORNING TEA ROTA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2019 in the Centenary Chapel. Volunteers are still required for March. If you can help, please add your details opposite the date of your choice.

CHURCH TRANSPORT – There is currently an urgent need for a driver for the Greenbank Church transport rota. The duty would involve picking up passengers 1 week in 6 and bringing them to and from the Sunday morning service. Mark Allan [638 3916].

EAST RENFREWSHIRE WELCOMES REFUGEES by Global Justice Glasgow & Oxfam Scotland 21st February 7pm to 9pm.

Want to show that you stand in solidarity with refugees? Then join this interactive evening aimed at ensuring East Renfrewshire is a welcoming place for people seeking refuge. A short sample of Oscar-nominated Ai Wei Wei film Human Flow will be screened and what action we can take locally will be discussed to make our community more hospitable. You’ll also have the chance to hear about the harsh realities faced by refugees arriving in the UK who are prevented from reuniting with their loved ones, and find out how your support of the FamiliesTogether campaign could help overturn these cruel rules. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
