TONIGHT, AT THE NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS SERVICE, AND AT ALL THE CHRISTMAS SERVICES NEXT WEEK THERE WILL BE A RETIRING OFFERING IN AID OF C.H.A.S. The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland [CHAS] provides the only hospice service in Scotland for children and young people with life limiting conditions. A children’s hospice offers professional care, practical help and emotional support to the whole family usually from the day of acceptance to the death of their children and beyond.
REMEMBERING LOVED ONES AT CHRISTMAS – there are cards beside our Christmas Remembrance Tree for anyone who wishes to commemorate a loved one by adding their name to the tree.
SUNDAY MORNING TEA/COFFEE ROTA – VOLUNTEERS FOR 24 & 31 DECEMBER 2017 STILL REQUIRED! If you can help, please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice. THE ROTA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2018 in the Centenary Chapel. If your organisation can offer its services for a few Sundays please add your details opposite the date/s of your choice.
VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE CHRISTINGLES for the Children’s Christmas Eve Service. If you can spare a few minutes, we will meet in the Hall of Friendship to assemble them on Christmas Eve after the morning service.
POSTIES WANTED – This year’s cards, wishing the Parish the Blessings of Christmas and inviting them to join us for our Christmas services, are looking for volunteers to deliver them. They’re waiting at the front of the Centenary Chapel. Your help in this important part of our outreach is much appreciated. Thank you.
S.U. BIBLE READING NOTES for the next quarter are available for those who ordered them in the Centenary Chapel today.
ATTENTION ALL DISTRICT ELDERS if you have not picked up your FREEWILL OFFERING ENVELOPES for distribution please collect them from the Centenary Chapel, thank you.
EAGLEHSAM WILL BE WITHOUT A DISTRICT VISITOR FROM THE NEW YEAR. One volunteer is required to deliver Good Neighbours. Please contact Margot or Gordon Blyth (0141 638 7646).
PETER HOWARD will be giving an organ recital at Kelvingrove Art Gallery on Saturday 23rd December at 1pm; entry is free.
VOLUNTEERS TO READ THE BIBLE LESSONS OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS would be much appreciated. A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice. We are always looking for new volunteers, so even if you have never read the lesson before please consider adding your name to the list. You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.
THE JANUARY ISSUE OF LIFE &WORK MAGAZINE will be available from Sunday the 17th December. Would subscribers please uplift their copies from the flower Room as the next Good Neighbour delivery will be the February issue. Subscription renewal details will be enclosed within this the January issue. Cheques should be made payable to Greenbank Church enclosed in the envelope provided and placed in the offering bags for our Treasurer. GNE FOODBANK – Please think of the foodbank coming up to Christmas. Parcels or items of Christmas foods such as tinned turkey/ham, Christmas cake and biscuits, custard, napkins, etc. A full list is on the screen in the Hall of Friendship or call Alex Howie on 6385169. Parcels to be in box in Hall of Friendship by Thursday 14th December.
PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING THE LODGING HOUSE MISSION CHRISTMAS APPEAL this year by making a cash donation. This will allow small gifts to be purchased for service users and will help to defray additional costs incurred at this time. Donations can be made online via the website www.lhmglasgow.org.uk or in the donation envelopes which are available in the front vestibule of the church, link building, or Hall of Friendship.

ANYONE WHO WISHES TO JOIN OR KNOW MORE ABOUT GREENBANK or knows someone who would appreciate a visit from the Minister in hospital or wishes to be prayed for, is invited to fill out one of the POSTCARDS placed on the pew boards. Completed postcards can be handed to welcome team members at the church door or posted through the letterbox at the entrance to the halls.
