IT IS WITH SADNESS that we announce the death of Mr Gordon Pasley of 3 Victoria Crescent, Clarkston. Mr Pasley’s funeral took place on Thursday, 13th February at Linn Crematorium. Please remember Mr Pasley’s family and friends in your prayers.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION in the church at 11.45am on Sunday 23rd February 2020. The only item currently on the agenda is the Approval of the Accounts for the year ended 31st December 2019.

COPIES OF THE KIRK SESSION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF 3RD FEBRUARY are available in the Centenary Chapel for those members of the Kirk Session who did not receive them by email.

FAIRTRADE GOODS will be on sale in the halls after the service on Sunday, 23rd February

ELDERS who have districts can now collect their communion invitations and Kirk Session coffee morning tickets (which are bundled together) from the front of the Centenary Chapel. NON-DISTRICT ELDERS, RETIRED ELDERS AND ASSOCIATES should pick up their coffee morning tickets from the same location.

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKES – On Tuesday 25th February our minister, in her capacity as one of the chaplains at Williamwood High School, is taking pancakes to school for the pupils as the beginning of a Lent initiative to encourage the pupils to give/do something for others during Lent. Jeanne would much appreciate donations of pancakes which can be brought to the manse before 11am on the Tuesday.

THE CHURCH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED on Monday instead of Wednesday this week.

SUNDAY MORNING TEA ROTA VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED IN FEBRUARY. If you can help, please add your details to the list in the Centenary Chapel.

Father Stephen Baillie will be visiting THE GUILD on Wednesday afternoon at 2.15pm. The title of his talk will be “St. Joseph’s and Me”. All welcome.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER SERVICEFriday, 6th March 2020 at 10.30am at St. Aidan’s Church. [The World Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative run under the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March.

THE GREENBANK PLAYERS invite you to “A Private View”, a new Murder Mystery being performed on Friday 6th March & Saturday 7th March in the Cowley Hall. Tickets are now available from Greenbank Player members [£10] including wine and supper.

BUSBY FLOWER CLUB invites anyone who it interested to their meeting on Tuesday, 25th February at 7.30pmin Greenbank Church when there will be a demonstration & raffle (your first visit will be free). The Club will meet at Greenbank on the last Tuesday of each month until June before returning to its usual venue at The Redhurst Hotel.

THE COMMITTEE OF THE GREENBANK FILM SOCIETY has decided, due to inclement weather, that the showing of “The Man Who Knew Too Much”, cancelled last Monday, will be postponed until a later date in the spring. The next scheduled film, “Blue Jasmine”, starring Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin and directed by Woody Alllen, will be shown, weather permitting, on Monday, 2nd March.

We have recently entered into a FOOD SHARE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CO-OP across the road from the church to help reduce the amount of food waste by making use of, or distributing items that can no longer be sold. SNAP COMMUNITY YOUTH CLUBfundraising opportunity through the Co-op (Oct 19-Oct 20). Using a Co-op card, 1% of the cost of co-op products purchased can be donated to SNAP – just nominate them online as your preferred charity.

GREENBANK CHURCH TRANSPORT provides a valuable service to enable passengers to attend Sunday morning worship. It operates with the help of a team of volunteer drivers who operate a 1 week in 5 rota. New drivers required, if you would like to help, please see Mark Allan (Church Transport Convener) or contact 0141 638 3916.
