INTIMATIONS 14/4/19

Church Service Intimations

TEA AND COFFEE will be served in the Fraser Hall after the morning service. All welcome.

You will be handed a piece of card as you enter the church with a PALM BRANCH on one side and an invitation to participate on the other; as you leave the church, at the end of the service, please take a PALM CROSS with you.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE KIRK SESSION TOMORROW, Monday, 15thApril. The Agenda and reports are now available in the Centenary chapel for those members of Session who did not receive it by email.

SPECIAL NOTICE – We have had notification of bogus workmen operating in the Clarkston area recently so we thought it would be useful to advise everyone (whatever your age!!) of a few simple steps you can take to protect yourself from becoming a victim. It is unusual these days for reputable companies to go around knocking on doors looking for business so treat each caller with a huge dose of suspicion.  NEVER agree on the doorstep to any work being done for you. ALWAYS tell the caller politely that you’ll think about it and will talk to someone else before making a decision (this normally deters bogus callers). NEVER pay money up front unless you receive a proper invoice (check that there’s a VAT registration number – the absence of one is a tell-tale sign that things aren’t quite right) and never accept a lift to the bank to withdraw money. ALWAYS try and get the name of the individual and/or company – you can easily check them out by phoning East Renfrewshire Trading Standards on 0800 013 0076 (confidential helpline). It is always a good idea to pause and take time before making a decision. If possible ask a family member for their advice or phone a friend in Greenbank for their advice.

THE GUILD OUTING TO CRIEFF will take place on Wednesday, 22nd May. At the moment there are 6 seats available on the bus. Any lady who would wish to join us should contact Elizabeth Cross on 638 5162 for details.

ARTICLES FOR THE MAY EDITION of Good Neighbour should be received at the Church Office by TODAY please.

THE SUNDAY MORNING TEA ROTA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2019 in the Centenary Chapel. Volunteers are still required for 21st and 28th April. If you can help, please add your details at the date of your choice.

DISTRICT VISITORS: District 51 is still without a visitor at present, 10 homes on Greenwood Road. Anyone willing to give this a try please contact Margot/Gordon Blyth (638 7646).
