Colour Circle at Clarkston

Lions, tigers, beaches, mountains, meadows, forests, birds and flowers were just a small selection of paintings on display and sale from our accomplished artists in Greenbank last month.

The Colour Circle Art Club came about when Bert McCrum said, “When I retire I would like to start a wee art group in the church halls and we could share our knowledge”

That was 20 years ago! It started off with small steps, 2 hours every second Tuesday morning. Over the years we have grown. Now the class begins every Tuesday morning at 9am through till 3.30pm, with 40 amateur artists and always a waiting list. The joy of watching an artist taking up their brush for the first time in many years (probably from school time) to putting on an Art Show like last month is truly inspiring.

If you have not visited us before, we will remind you for next year.

Bert and I would like to thank all who have supported us in whatever way over the years. Whether admiring, buying or just having a nice cuppa and blether with friends. The art class will carry on painting, sharing our knowledge and getting ourselves ready for next February and you just might see polar bears, ducklings, elephants, castles and flowers etc. etc.

Thank you again, Anna Maclure
