We had an amazing and successful day at our Association Kumite (fighting) Championships. The event involved 300 competitors from across our Association and there were great displays of technique combinations executed throughout the day. Our own club came away with 30 medals. Our very own Josh Kelly in the 5 year old category started the day when he achieved Gold and at the end of the day Nicola Meiklejohn achieved Gold in the Senior Female category and was crowned Senior Female Champion. On a special note, Nicola’s children Kiara, Ben and Zac......

Lions, tigers, beaches, mountains, meadows, forests, birds and flowers were just a small selection of paintings on display and sale from our accomplished artists in Greenbank last month. The Colour Circle Art Club came about when Bert McCrum said, “When I retire I would like to start a wee art group in the church halls and we could share our knowledge” That was 20 years ago! It started off with small steps, 2 hours every second Tuesday morning. Over the years we have grown. Now the class begins every Tuesday morning at......

Another Guild Session is now over. Although our numbers are still falling the year was a success. However, if the Guild is to continue to play a major role in the life of Greenbank Church as it has done for 110 years, we desperately need new members. Please give joining the Guild your serious consideration over the summer months and come along and join us when we begin our new session on 21st September. Sunshine Bags will be delivered to the ladies of the congregation during April. Your generosity means a great......

This will be held in Giffnock South Parish Church halls from 10am till noon on Saturday 9th April. You can help in several ways: 1. Come to the coffee morning – tickets from me in the Fraser Hall after morning service (£2) 2. Complete the Lovehearts quiz – (£1) also available from me. 3. Donate to the......

With you wearing them of course! We’re not Paula Radcliffe, Mo Farah, or even Jessica Ennis! But we enjoy our running, jogging, strolling and STRIDING. We meet outside the church on a Monday evening at 6.30pm, and then we do a sociable run of anywhere between 2 miles and 10k. (That latter distance is of course a way to con you into doing 6 miles!) No, seriously, we are not serious, we run for fun. And we run at any speed, for any distance, depending on what the vote is amongst those ......

During Lent a number of people came to the Lenten Book Club on Saturday mornings and we managed to read to the end of the book of Numbers. The conversations were informal, informative and enjoyable and those who took part decided that they would like the Book Club to continue. The Saturday Morning Book Club will therefore continue once a month. The dates set for each meeting in 2016 are 30th April, 28th May, and 25th June, with a break for holidays continuing on 17th September, 29th October, and 26th November. The......
