We’ve started back at JAM and Sunday Club after the summer break and we’ve been thinking about the Lord’s Prayer these past few weeks. We had a lot of fun together at our Family Day where the Mums and Dads joined us and we made paper chain prayers and a canvas with our handprints. JAM have been painting their room with their new logo and creating a blackboard to use for discussions on a Sunday morning. This month 4 members of JAM took part in the church quiz and came a very respectable 6th out of 24 teams. We even had T-shirts made for the occasion. We won the quiz in 2012 with Charlie Clegg in our team and this month we’ve all been supporting him and his team of St John’s Oxford as they compete in University Challenge on BBC2 . They are doing really well and currently at the semi final stages...

In November and December we made a small army of snowmen at JAM from old socks and rice and along with some Christmas themed baking ,sold them to raise £90 for the crèche. They are hoping to order some new toys and furniture soon. Watch this space 🙂...

Last summer JAM spent a few weeks decorating the old creche room in the church and bringing it up to date with lots of colour and as many of God’s creations as we could paint ! Most of JAM helped to do this and some old and new friends came along as well and helped. JAM is made up of young people in S1 and above and we meet on a Sunday morning in church at 10.30am for an hour .We get together after the children’s address in the room above the vestry with hot chocolate and toast. We catch up about our week and look at how the bible verses for that Sunday might be relevant to us – sometimes we use the internet or look at the week’s newspapers and sometimes we just chat.
