‘VOLUNTEERING VOCATIONS’, A GAP YEAR SCHEME FOR YOUNG ADULTS

Vocations Volunteering with the Church of Scotland

‘VOLUNTEERING VOCATIONS’, A GAP YEAR SCHEME FOR YOUNG ADULTS AGED 18 – 25, has been running since 2015, and has proved a positive and inspiring experience for volunteers and their placement congregations alike. The Ministries Council of the Church of Scotland is hoping to continue the programme with a new group of volunteers in 2017–18. The programme offers a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain experience of the different types of work within a parish or project in a supported environment, whilst exploring any potential call to serve the Church in the long term. A short film about the scheme can be viewed at: https://www.tomorrowscalling.org/first-steps/volunteering/

More information on the scheme can be found on the Hall of Friendship noticeboard or from the church office (email greenbank.office@tiscali.co.uk) Interested parties between the ages of 18 and 25 are very welcome to apply. The closing date for applications is 29 April 2017. More info from Heather French in the Church Offices on 0131 225 5722, ext 2242, or by emailing vocation@cofscotland.org.uk.
