Prayer of the week

Lord God, We thank you for your unfailing love and pray that you will enable us,
by the power of the Holy Spirit, to turn from any word or action which is
unworthy of followers of Jesus
.   Amen.

Membership Of Greenbank Parish Church - Everyone is welcome at Greenbank. No one needs to be a member to join our church services or the many activities based in the Church Halls. However, we enjoy welcoming new members into the church family and membership is encouraged and we try to make the process of joining our church a simple and worthwhile experience. Our Minister, Jeanne Roddick has arranged an informal meeting for anyone who might be interested in joining the church or simply finding out more about the Christian Church and church life generally. The intention of the meeting is to help people explore the questions they often ask when considering membership - What difference does membership make? What is the purpose of the Church? What do Christians really believe? What will be expected of me if I decide to join the Church? To attend these meetings you don’t have to have any great understanding of the bible or the church, there are no ’tests’ to pass and everything is run on a friendly informal way. The meeting has been arranged for Saturday 27th February 2010 starting at 10am in the church hall and ending at 12 noon with a sandwich lunch.  A crèche will also be provided to look after children.  If you would like to come to the meeting please contact Jane at the office [644 1841] to put your name on the list or give Jeanne a call [644 1395].  Alternatively, if you know someone who might be interested in coming along to the meeting please give them this invitation.

Volunteers to read the Bible lessons over the next three months would be much appreciated.  A new list is available in the Centenary Chapel and if you would be willing to read the lesson on one or more Sundays, please add your name and telephone number to the service of your choice.  We are always looking for new volunteers, so even if you have never read the lesson before please consider adding your name to the list.  You will be contacted on the Friday of the preceding week with the readings.  Thank you.

Gift Aid:  What is it? - Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to your Church.  The Church is able to reclaim tax on gifts of charity so, provided that you are a UK taxpayer, using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, the Church will receive an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue.  Gift Aid envelopes for your offerings are available at the pew-ends or at the front door of the Church.  Please complete the front of the envelope to make your Gift Aid declaration.
