Resource Centre For a list of books (Arranges alphabetically by author) click here This consists of two book trolleys, some older material kept on shelves in the flower room and the church archive of documents and photographs. The book trolleys are usually kept in the Link Building but please feel free to wheel the trolleys into the halls when you have a meeting. There are books to suit all ages from Toddlers up. Anyone may borrow an item. The resource is designed to be self-service. If you want to borrow an item put the date, your name (and telephone number or other means of contact) on the book card that you’ll find inside the book. Leave the card in the long box on the trolley. When you return an item please leave it in the grey returns box which will be on the trolleys. The items are arranged in rough categories, denoted by coloured stickers on the spine.
There is no fixed loan period. The responsibility for returning the item is yours, but we may contact you if we have a request for an item that you’ve had for a while. Now and again we may put out a general re-call. We are happy to receive suggestions of suitable material and will also accept donations of recent material in good order. We would also like to receive reviews of the books. If you have read an item and care to put together comments on its content, suitability, etc. we’ll include these with the book and, with your permission, we may use the review to publicise the stock in Good Neighbour. The Resource Centre consists of books at present although we hope to expand it to include CDs, tapes, videos, etc. The content varies from simple Bible stories for children to Bible commentaries and from practical help on how to lead a small group to exploration of the nature of faith. There are three collections – one on each of the book trolleys and one in the Flower Room. The book trolleys contain the most recent and popular issues. They are divided for convenience into adult (A) and junior (J) but there is no age limit for either. The collection in the Flower Room is the Reserve (V) collection, mainly older |
