GREENBANK PARISH CHURCH
MUSIC NOTES

AGE GAP

When you read this Age Gap will have been to the City Chambers to play for the Boys’ Brigade Queen’s Badge Ceremony and will also have played for our friends in Garthamlock at a joint service in Ruchazie Community Church.  The BB Ceremony closes our praise for the summer and so I would like to thank all Age Gap members for their hard work over the past months and to Florence for her continued leadership and enthusiasm.

Age Gap would like to invite anyone in the congregation who plays an instrument or sings to think about joining us - our practices are fun and informal and we are keen to welcome and encourage anyone of any age.  If you would like any more information, please contact Val **

ORGAN RECITALS

First of all, advance notice that our June recital, scheduled for Saturday 19th June, has unfortunately had to be cancelled as Tomasz Pawlik is unable to perform due to unforeseen circumstances.  We hope it may be possible to have him play for us again some time in the future.

Our May recital by Dr Malcolm Sim featured, yet again, other dimensions of our organ's versatility as ably demonstrated when Malcolm played a thunderstorm!  We look forward to having Malcolm return again, when he has promised to play yet another storm.

Many thanks to all who have supported the Organ Recitals this season. Sincere thanks are also due to those who are there faithfully each month to aid in various ways: Anna Maclure for welcoming people as they enter the building, and Stella, Judy, Anna (and others on an ad hoc basis) who have ensured there has been tea, coffee and biscuits available after each performance.

Recitals will resume again in September - keep an eye on the intimations, church website, the Glasgow Society of Organists website, or www.organrecitals.com for future details.

Helen
