MUSIC IN GREENBANK – December 2008 (ctd) Outing to Concert Hall Ticket money should all be paid by now, and any outstanding money should be passed to Ally Mathew with the utmost urgency. Please speak to Ally after any of the Sunday services. Bus money should also be fully paid, but again any outstanding can be passed to Ally. See notes in Centenary Chapel. The bus will leave from Greenbank at 6.30pm sharp on Friday 12th December for the Carol Concert by the Phoenix Choir. The bus will return us to the Church afterwards. Service of Reflections We continue to be encouraged by the responses to our afternoon services - Reflections @ 3 on the third Sunday of the month. These services aim to offer a reflective time to people lasting around 30 minutes. The services consist of prayers, readings, choir pieces and a hymn. Some people have commented, both to myself and choir members, that those attending find the quiet service of reflection very moving and a welcome escape form an otherwise busy schedule. There is no Reflection’s service in December - our next date is Sunday 18th January Greenbank Recitals The next few recitals for December, January and February are as follows:
Can I thank our recitalist from 29th November, Tomaz Pawlik. Tomasz is the recently appointed Director of Music at Portland Church of Scotland in Troon and this was his first recital with us here at Greenbank. I’d like to draw particular attention to Saturday 14th February when we are honoured to welcome John Turner from the Cathedral. This recital forms part of our 125th Celebrations, as does the piano recital on Saturday 28th. I urge everyone to mark these dates in your diaries **For further details please contact the webmaster or the church office |
