LODGING HOUSE
MISSION
Thanks to all who supported the Lodging House Mission in the lead up to
Christmas. Christmas card sales totalled £997. A further £85.40 was raised
through donations and sales of Bert's cards giving a grand total of
£1082.40. 8 shoe boxes were also donated.
All are invited to a service at 6pm on Sunday 29th January at the Lodging
House Mission to mark Homelessness Sunday.
Thanks go to pupils and staff of Williamwood High School who donated a large
quantity of groceries to the Lodging House Mission.
There is a continuous need to raise funds. The "seat at the table” appeal is
on-going. The idea of this appeal is to cover the cost of "a seat at the
table "or, in other words, the price of lunch for one person for a full
year. It is hoped that members of church congregations will combine by
contributing what they can each month (eg £5 or another sum) with the target
of together contributing £50 a month. With Gift Aid recovered this would
amount to £750 in a year. Please contact me if you would like to make this
commitment or would like more information.

CHURCH HOUSE,
BRIDGETON
Church House is very busy providing a varied programme of activities. They
have been watching a Scotland vs Ireland rugby match; having 6 weeks
of football coaching with Celtic football club; enjoying a visit to the
theatre; and learning about other ball sports through an organisation called
Enjoy-a-ball.
Church House now has a full sized squash court as it has been working with
Scottish Squash and Racketball Ltd who are trying to increase participation
in racket sports.
Church House is still in need of more volunteers to help with their youth
club (particularly the running of a tuck shop) on Tuesday and Friday
evenings. The time commitment for this would be from 6.45pm until
8.45pm.Perhaps a number of us could form a rota to help them out? If
anyone would like to help, please contact me.
