SAVING ENERGY AND IMPROVING COMFORT IN THE CHURCH HALLS

The purchase of four thermostats for the halls was approved by the Kirk Session and has been implemented by the Fabric Committee. The thermostats have been received and are awaiting installation. This should reduce energy consumption, save money and provide greater comfort within the halls during every season of the year

DRIVERS TAKE NOTE!

Some advice from the Energy Saving Trust.

  • How to reduce your petrol/diesel costs and also help the environment. (Every gallon of fuel saved reduces 20 pounds of CO2 released into the atmosphere.)

  • Maintain correct tyre pressures. (Safety and economic benefits)

  • Drive smoothly and when it is practical use a higher gear.

  • Switch off engine when you will not immediately be moving forward.

  • Share your journeys whenever possible.

  • Keep the weight of your car down by not carrying unnecessary items.

  • Use air conditioning and other electronic devices sparingly

  • Keep your speed down. (Just leave earlier!)
