The Diary this month is in the form of a prayer written around the “name above all names” – JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOUR.

Just and all powerful God, we bring to you in prayer, our neighbours, our church, our world and ourselves.
Enfold in your loving arms, the sick, the dying and the bereaved.
Shine your light into the dark corners of this world.
Undermine the power of all leaders who serve only their own interests.
Send out your messengers to bring hope to all nations.

Come Lord Jesus, bring your peace to all people.
Hear our prayers for the abused and persecuted.
Reign in our hearts and empower us to love the unlovable.
Inspire us to give without counting the cost.
Stay the hand of violence and oppression.
Turn from their ways, all who pursue war and terrorism.

Lift the drug addict and alcoholic out of despair into hope.
Open our hearts to respond to the needs of others.
Reconcile families driven apart by old wounds and bitterness
Defeat the power of evil with the power of your love.

Save the children of the world from poverty, starvation and disease.
Alert governments to the urgent needs of the homeless, the refugee and the asylum seeker.
Visit with health, strength and wisdom Rev. Tom Nelson and Rt. Rev. David Lunan as they fulfil the roles to which you have called them.
Impart to our young people, the truths of the Christian faith.
Oppose persuasive voices that would lead our young people astray.
Unite in fellowship and faith, all who are part of this church family.
Receive these prayers and with them our prayers for Jeanne and her family as we seek for Jeanne, your blessing, love and guidance in her life and ministry.
Amen.

“In the name of our Lord Jesus, always give thanks for everything to God the Father”.
