PRAYER DIARY

The Prayer of the Week from each Sunday’s Order of Service can be used as a starting point for prayer during the following week. Prayer Promoter

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”                  Ecc. 3:1       NIV

In this summer season please remember in prayer all leaders, teachers, lecturers, pupils and students in church organisations, schools, colleges and universities as they enjoy a time of relaxation from past endeavours and prepare for the new session.

Pray for their safety at home or on vacation.

Pray for the homeless and the marginalised at home and abroad for whom every season brings hardship and despair.  Pray particularly for young people: street children; victims of conflict between parents and between nations; the unloved, unwanted and abused.  Ask God to send them angels of mercy in the guise of caring people to alleviate their suffering and distress and pray that governments will hear the voice of the poor and take action not just talk or worse still ignore their urgent needs.

Pray for the elderly, the lonely, the sick at home and in hospital, those close to death and the bereaved.

Remember in prayer the young people from Greenbank and Netherlee churches and their leaders, including our minister, as they spend time in Philadelphia working with the mission team there.

Pray fro the work of Church House, The Well and LHM.  Recently appointed to lead LHM, the Rev. Gus Mckay has particularly requested our prayers for his ministry there and for the staff and those whom they serve.

Pray for Jeanne and her family as they go off on holiday.  Ask for a much deserved time of relaxation and renewal for Jeanne and a safe return to Greenbank ready for the demands of the new session

“He has set the right time for everything”                                               Ecc. 3:11a       GNB

Copies of the Prayers for Healing List are on the table in the Centenary Chapel for those who wish to use them during their own prayer time.
